I write songs about love, fun, and peaceful places. I compose in a variety of music styles mostly due to my background. I grew up in a musical family. My stepfather played guitar and sang country songs with my Mom accompanying on guitar. Mom developed a great library of tunes and taught me the major chords at 7. After some home study, I enrolled at the Haddonfield Conservatory of Music for guitar. I started my first band at age 12,in Barrington,NJ, a suburb of Philadelphia, PA. The group was an accordion trio called "The Starlites". My Mother was our booking agent and had us employed playing parties and weddings. Beside being popular with the girls, getting paid to do something we loved to do just didn't seem fair to the kids with paper routes and mowing lawns. That band went on to become "The Buccaneers". We then added a second guitarist and recorded "I'm A Fool". A promotional tour took us to TV, radio and too many one nighters to remember. We were once booked as the opening band for "The Dave Clark 5" on their second tour of the US. We were asked to open for The Rolling Stones second national tour but had prior commitments.
While on tour in VA the drummer, and my best friend today, Ken Loftis, and I were involved in a car crash that eventually ended up breaking up the Buccaneers. After moving to Coconut Grove, Miami, FL I started, and played in several bands. The styles varied from Delta Blues, Folk, to Hard Rock and Dance music and worked the East coast to Key West. In the "Grove" is where I met Vince Martin, Fred Neil, Jimmy Buffett and many established and upcoming music stars. One R&B group I was in played a gig in Thule, Greenland.
A move brought me back to S.Jersey and I once again began to play clubs, weddings, and concerts. I worked with "The Hal Davis Orchestra","Doctors of Rhythm Dixieland Band" and "The Bob Ferris Orchestra" in and around the Atlantic City Casino area on bass and vocals.
I am blessed with a wonderful wife, Vicki. We love to travel, but we also love to spend time together at our home near Tampa, FL.
I met the talented and fabulous band, "Kickin' Again" and our goals are identical. To bring good, solid music that shaped more than one generation back to the Tampa, St. Pete area. I am proud to be a part of this dynamic group of professionals
